ABOUT US

'Jacksons' is believed to be the oldest lock manufacturer in Australia. Its beginnings date back to late in the nineteenth century when Englishman, Francis Jackson, decided to settle in Launceston, Tasmania. He had just completed a three year contract in Japan, which had involved teaching the Japanese the crafts of making locks and brass fittings.

Francis Jackson started the business in 1883 and he traded under the name 'F. Jackson' until 'Jackson Lock and Brass Pty Ltd' was incorporated in 1919. Ownership of the company changed from Jacksons to J.E. Scott in 1940 and has remained in the Scott family to this day.

The factory manufactures a wide range of traditional lever type locks, including cabinet locks, padlocks, safe locks, mortice locks, key blanks and institution locks.

We sell wholesale to locksmiths and other hardware outlets.
